DESCRIPTION:DID YOU KNOW? —\nBlackpackers has adopted a portion of the Sand Creek Trail! \nThis week we are joining some incredible organizations for Creek Week 2022! Fountain Creek has invited “Creek Crews” from our local communities to come together and lend some helping hands to our waterways in the largest cleanup in Colorado — with 98+ tons of trash cleaned up so far! \nWe will be cleaning up on Saturday October 1st from 10am-12pm\, meeting at Chelton Road (behind Green Valley Apartments). \nSome of the amazing organizations participating include (but are not limited to) TOSC\, Lelia’s Clean-Up Champions\, Bear Creek Park\, The City of Manitou Springs\, UpaDowna\, Peaks & Pines Brewing\, and many many more! \nThe sand creek trail connects to the natural surface of the Pikes Peak Greenway/Fountain Creek Regional Trails. It’s a mild trail with two major street crossings at Hancock Expwy and Chelton Rd. Our portion of this trail surface is fully concrete. \nIf you are interested in more information about this trail clean-up please email Patricia@coblackpackers.com for more information. \nWith your help we can make our trails and watersheds more accessible for everyone in our community!

DESCRIPTION:🎉Registration is open!!🎉 \nWe are so excited for our third annual weekend retreat at @camp_shady_brook !\n(located in Deckers\, Colorado- roughly 20mi NW of Woodland Park) \nWe are returning to Camp Shadybrook from September 23rd through the 25th. This year we will join camp Shadybrook for their adventure race on the 24th!  There will be cabin lodging\, food\, plenty of fun activities and fun for the whole family\, all at no cost for our participants! \nOne of the new events we are joining Shadybrook in this year is the 5th annual Battle by the Brook Adventure Race\, held on September 24th- with adventures for everyone!  Each team will race in a variety of endurance disciplines\, including orienteering/navigation\, cross-country running/hiking\, mountain biking\, paddling and other unique challenges for Adventure Racing. \nEach competitive team will consist of 2\, 3 /4 athletes.\nTeam categories: male\, female\, coed. Meeting at the YMCA of Southeast Colorado Springs \nWe’ll be riding about 4-5 miles to Wildflower Park and back on the Sand Creek Trail (there may or may not be popsicles & fruit along the way😜) \n@kidsonbikescos is graciously letting us access their bike library! You don’t need to have a bike to attend\, but we do ask that you bring your own helmet if you are able to. \nWe are striving to make this event as accessible as possible.
