Trip Preparation

Q: I've never been camping before. Is that okay?

A: Absolutely! Most of our participants are new to camping. Our professional guides are experienced in working with beginners and will teach you everything you need to know for a safe, enjoyable experience.

A: We provide all camping gear, food, and equipment. You’ll just need to bring personal items like clothing appropriate for the weather, any medications you take, and personal toiletries. We’ll send you a detailed packing list after you’re accepted.

A: Please let us know about any dietary needs on your application. Our guides are experienced in accommodating various dietary requirements and will ensure you have safe, nutritious meals throughout the trip.

Safety & Wildlife

Q: What about bears and other wildlife?

A: Wildlife encounters are rare, but our guides are trained in wildlife safety protocols. We’ll teach you proper food storage techniques, how to make noise while hiking, and what to do if you encounter animals. All our campsites are in areas with established safety procedures.

A: Yes! We use established campsites with proper safety measures. Our guides conduct safety briefings, and we provide quality tents and sleeping gear. You’ll learn basic outdoor safety that will keep you comfortable and secure.

A: Our guides monitor weather conditions closely and have contingency plans. We provide appropriate rain gear and shelter, and know how to keep everyone safe and comfortable in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

Q: Do I need to be in great shape?

A: Our trips are designed for various fitness levels. We’ll match you with a trip appropriate for your abilities. Let us know about any physical limitations on your application, and we’ll ensure you have a suitable experience.

A: Please disclose any health conditions on your application. Our guides are trained in wilderness first aid, and we can accommodate most health needs with proper planning.

Group Experience

Q: Will I be camping alone?

A: No! You’ll be part of a small group (typically 6-8 people) with professional guides. Many participants find the group aspect one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.

A: Our guides are skilled at group management and creating positive group dynamics. We also carefully review applications to create compatible groups when possible.

A: Friends and family members are welcome to apply, though acceptance is based on individual applications and trip availability.

Practical Concerns

Q: Where will we use the bathroom?

A: We’ll teach you about Leave No Trace principles and proper wilderness bathroom etiquette. Most of our sites have established facilities, and our guides will explain all procedures clearly.

A: We’ll show you camping hygiene techniques using biodegradable soap and portable washing methods. You’ll be surprised how refreshed you can feel with simple camping techniques!

A: While we hope you’ll love the full experience, we understand emergencies happen. Our guides will discuss exit procedures during the safety briefing, and we always have communication and transportation backup plans.

After the Trip

Q: Can I go on multiple trips?

A: We encourage repeat participation! Priority may be given to first-time participants depending on demand, but we love building a community of outdoor enthusiasts.
